Smoking cessation clinic Australia

Quit smoking for good with personalised smoking cessation support

Quitting smoking is the single best thing you can do for your health

Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for your health — and you do not have to do it alone. Most people who quit successfully have tried more than once, so if previous attempts have not stuck, that is not failure — it is part of how quitting works.

At The New Clinic, we provide personalised, evidence-based smoking cessation support aligned with Australian clinical guidelines. Whether you smoke, vape or both, we help you build a realistic quit plan, manage cravings and stay supported — in clinic at Erina on the Central Coast and via telehealth across Australia.

Evidence-based support to help you stop smoking

Personalised quit plan

Following Australian best-practice guidelines, your healthcare professional reviews your smoking or vaping history, assesses your level of nicotine dependence, and helps you set a quit date and a realistic, step-by-step plan designed around your life.

Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) guidance

Nicotine replacement therapy eases cravings and withdrawal, and Australian guidelines recommend combination NRT (such as a patch plus a faster-acting form) with behavioural support for people with nicotine dependence. Your practitioner will advise on the options most suitable for you.

Behavioural support and counselling

Quitting is as much about habits and triggers as it is about nicotine. We help you identify what prompts you to smoke or vape, build practical strategies to manage cravings and stress, and plan for high-risk situations — the behavioural support that guidelines show makes quitting far more likely to last.

Vaping cessation support

Vaping is not a harmless habit, and nicotine dependence from e-cigarettes is very real. We provide the same structured, judgement-free support to help you stop vaping — whether you vape only, or are using it alongside cigarettes.

Frequently asked questions

Your quit smoking questions answered

How can a smoking cessation clinic help me quit?

We provide personalised, evidence-based support aligned with Australian guidelines — including a structured quit plan, guidance on nicotine replacement therapy and other options, behavioural strategies for managing cravings, and ongoing follow-up. Combining behavioural support with appropriate medication is more effective than trying to quit on willpower alone.

I've tried to quit before and failed. Can you still help?

Absolutely — and you have not failed. Most people who successfully quit have made several attempts. Each try teaches you something useful, and with the right plan and support your next attempt has a much better chance of lasting.

Do you help with quitting vaping as well as smoking?

Yes. We provide the same structured, judgement-free support for stopping vaping, including managing nicotine dependence from e-cigarettes — whether you vape only or use it alongside cigarettes.

What is nicotine replacement therapy?

Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) provides a controlled, lower-risk amount of nicotine — through patches, gum, lozenges, mouth spray or inhalers — to ease cravings and withdrawal while you quit. Australian guidelines recommend combining a patch with a faster-acting form, alongside behavioural support, for people with nicotine dependence. Your practitioner will advise what is suitable for you.

Will I be prescribed medication?

Not everyone requires or is suitable for prescription medication. Any medication can only be considered after an individual clinical assessment and must be prescribed by an authorised healthcare professional where clinically appropriate.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is required to book a smoking cessation consultation with The New Clinic. If further support or referral is appropriate, your practitioner will discuss this with you.

Do you offer telehealth consultations?

Yes. Eligible patients may access quit smoking support via secure telehealth from locations across Australia. Suitability is assessed individually.

Is there free support available too?

Yes. Quitline (13 7848) is a free, confidential Australian telephone service offering advice and support to help you quit. It works well alongside the personalised medical care we provide.
